On the afternoon of July 24, the Trade Union of Dong Thap Industrial Parks and Economic Zones organized a Conference for Meeting and Dialogue with Trade Union Officials in Industrial Parks in the province. The conference was held at Long Jiang Industrial Park Development Co., Ltd., located in Tan Phuoc 3 Commune, Dong Thap Province.
Attending the conference were Nguyen Thanh Tuan, Vice President of the Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labor; Nguyen Thanh Vu, Deputy Head of the Dong Thap Economic Zone Authority; Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Chairman of the Trade Union of Dong Thap Industrial Parks and Economic Zones. Representing Long Jiang Industrial Park Development Co., Ltd. were Mr. Vo Cong Huy, Deputy General Director, and Ms. Phan Anh Tho, Chairwoman of the Company's Trade Union. The event was also attended by representatives of local authorities, enterprises, and more than 130 trade union officials and union members from businesses operating in Industrial Parks in the province.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan emphasized that the conference is an opportunity for the Trade Union to listen to the thoughts, aspirations, and practical concerns arising from company’s trade union activities, as well as the livelihoods and employment of union members and workers. He also noted that the event provided a forum for participants to exchange ideas, share experiences, and propose solutions to improve the effectiveness of trade union activities in response to the demands in the new situation.
Through the dialogue, participants exchanged views and explored practical, feasible solutions to strengthen coordination among the Trade Union, state management agencies, and enterprises in safeguarding the lawful and legitimate rights and interests of workers. The discussions also aimed to enhance the effectiveness of collaborative efforts in improving employee welfare and fostering harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations.
During the conference, the Organizing Committee received 12 comments and recommendations from trade union members and employees concerning their rights, benefits, and employment policies. The issues raised included social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance; wages and bonuses; working conditions; workers' housing; the quality of meals provided during work shifts; occupational safety and health; measures to improve employees' material and spiritual well-being; policies for female employees; support for workers affected by technological transformation and the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI); as well as proposals to enhance the quality and effectiveness of trade union activities within enterprises.
Representatives of the Dong Thap Economic Zone Authority, the Trade Union of Dong Thap Industrial Parks and Economic Zones, People's Committee of Tan Phuoc 3 Commune, and Long Jiang Industrial Park Development Co., Ltd. directly responded to and clarified issues within their respective areas of responsibility and authority.
For recommendations beyond their authority, the relevant authorities acknowledged and consolidated the feedback for submission to the Dong Thap Provincial Labor Federation and other competent authorities for further consideration and resolution. These efforts aim to create favorable conditions for grassroots trade unions to operate more effectively, enabling them to better fulfill their role in representing, caring for, and safeguarding the lawful and legitimate rights and interests of trade union members and employees.
This was a highly meaningful activity. The conference not only provided a forum for trade union members and employees to express their thoughts, aspirations, and concerns, but also served as a bridge to strengthen cooperation among the Trade Union, state authorities, and enterprises. It thereby contributed to fostering harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations while reinforcing employees' confidence, enabling them to work with peace of mind and remain committed to their employers over the long term.
In the coming time, the Trade Union of Dong Thap Industrial Parks and Economic Zones will continue to coordinate closely with relevant authorities to organize more meetings and dialogue sessions at the company’s Trade Union. The Trade Union will also proactively monitor the concerns and sentiments of trade union members and employees, promptly solve difficulties and issues, and contribute to building harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations, thereby supporting the socio-economic development of the local.
